Dr. Hevner, originally from Northern NJ, notes having deep Pennsylvania roots dating back to colonial times. He and his family relocated to the area about 16 years ago and described the move as "coming home."
Dr. Hevner works tirelessly and passionately to improve his patients' ability to function by alleviating pain, improving mobility, and restoring normal biomechanics naturally. By implementing what he calls a "common-sense" approach to pain reduction and function improvements, he looks to treat his patients with a non-invasive, drug-free approach but knows outside intervention may be appropriate. He has an uncanny ability to set his patients at ease, "catering to cowards" as he jests, communicate goals and outcomes effectively, and has created a pleasant, easy and comfortable environment in his new office. He prides himself in meeting his patients at their comfort level and providing safe, effective, and reasonable treatments to all.
When not taking care of his patients, he is an avid family genealogist, outdoorsman, cook and always has some sort of home improvement project going on. As he says, "I would rather wear out than rust."
When not working, he can be found at his cabin in Centre County, hiking, skiing, spending time with his wife, Melanie, and two children, Zach and Valerie, or taking in a good microbrew.
